About Pete & Redwell Builders

Colorado Bound

Originally from upstate New York, Pete hatched a plan to visit Colorado at the age of fourteen—he saved his money, bought a plane ticket and visited a friend on his own. It was clearly the start of something. Just a few years later, he returned for a summer job near Rocky Mountain National Park. It didn’t take long to find his way to Crested Butte. Hooked on backcountry skiing and life at the end of the road, he stayed. Pete now lives with his girlfriend of ten years and their dog. They continue to make CB home because no matter how many incredible places they travel, there’s no place quite as beautiful as the Elk Mountains.

As a Builder

For Pete, building is both a creative outlet and a chance to see a project through from start to finish. He takes on each project as his own and is dedicated to providing a quality product.

His favorite projects combine aesthetics with environmentally thoughtful design and building practices. He likes giving new life to old materials and also values new building practices for their ability to create more environmentally-friendly and efficient buildings.

He has seen time and again that bigger isn’t always better and less is often more—a well-thought-out footprint combined with quality materials and design result in a structure where every space has a useful purpose and the building “lives well.” That’s the ultimate goal.
